Get Well For My Hubby

Hi Everyone

I am rather tired tonight.  Was up early to take my Husband into hospital for a Hip Replacement.  Then went to visit him tonight and he is doing well so that's good.

It's out 12th Wedding Anniversary tomorrow but he will still be in the hospital!

Here is the Get Well Soon Card I made for him using Bear With Umbrella
from Craftin Desert Divas and I have coloured him using Copics.  I was inspired to give him an red outfit after a Crafty Friend of mine previously coloured him up in a yellow one.  I added Glossy Accents to his little red weliies

The card is a 6" Square and the patterned papers are from Scrap n Craft.  They are double sided.  I used a Little B Heart Die to cut and layer the heart.  The sentiment I typed on the laptop when I printed the image.  To finish I added Red Heart Pearl Gems

Its a Journal Page!

Hi Everyone

I was challenged by a crafty friend to have a go at a Journal Page. She sent me a link (and a pink pig journal)  to a very talented lady who makes Journal pages from scraps and other bits of stuff she had lying around. I have never even thought of trying to make a journal page as its not something that I thought I would be able to do.

Anyway I watched the video a few times and then dug deep into my craft drawers to see if I could find anything to make one with.

I had plenty of scraps of paper that was easy.  Then I found a piece of old net that has been sat in my embellishment drawer for ever so I chopped off a couple of bits of that.  I found some rubber stamps with the hexagon pattern and sentiment and thought they would be ok and I also found one with a clock.  I am no good at Distress inks so haven't got any of those.  I tend to use Dew Drop Inks to make backgrounds but they wouldn't do for this so I fished out my chalks.  Haven't used them in any great capacity in ages either.

AND.... Here is the result and my first ever journal page

Here is the link to the video tutorial that I watched.  You can tweek it to suit what you have like I did The lady is called Marta

New Releases at DDS

Hi Everyone

There have been some gorgeous new releases over at Digi Doodle Studios

I am very lucky to showcase this one called Beatrice Teddy Bear which I have coloured using Copics and I have added Glossy Accents over the Balloons. I fussy cut the image.

The card is a 6" square and the patterned papers are from Crafter Companion.  I cut the aperture and frame using Little B Heart Die and also the hearts on the inside.  The Happy Birthday is a Robert Addams Die.  I added a white feather, paper roses and a satin bow and finished by popping on some Pink Pearl Gems.

Twist & Pop Card

Hi Everyone

Something new from today!  I have never tried one of these and when a friend said have a go at a twist and pop card I thought I would never be able to make one.  This was nearly true as when it came to making the "Mechanism" I lost my patience several times. I nearly scrapped the whole idea. So I gave it a break for a day and went back to it with a calm mind and I am so pleased to say that it worked.

This card is for my Mum's partner's birthday coming up later in the year.

The Toppers are all from Hunkydory which was a free gift for being in their club a few years ago.  Something else that has been sat in my stash doing nothing!

I added some twine to decorate the front and popped a small sentiment on it.

I decorated the pop up and the inside also with the Hunkydory Toppers.  There are sentiments on two of the circles on the inside but as they are silver foiled writing its hard to see.  One says "Ahoy There Matey" and the other says "Wishing a Very Special Person a Very Special Birthday"

If you haven't tried one of these then I urge you to have ago.  Despite being stressed about not getting the mechanism right in the first few tries I really enjoyed it.

The tutorial I followed for this can be found HERE and an extra video for the mechanism can be found HERE  I needed this extra one as for some reason from the first video I could not get it to work lol!  Good Luck to you all!!

Lavender Baby

Hi Everyone

It is the start of the new challenge over at Creative Craft Cottage

This is the second one of a special challenge this month as this is the sister blog to CCC Digi Creations and on both these blogs we remember Eileen Dobson who started them both but sadly three years ago passed away.

The theme is Anything Goes but the DT have added a lavender ribbon or bow to their projects in memory of Eileen

We are being sponsored for this challenge by Digi Doodle Studios and I chose to work with this cute little baby and her friend.  This digi stamp is called Baby Ruby & Sly and I have coloured her with Copics and then fussy cut her out.

The card is a 6" Square and the patterned paper is from LOTV .  I used a Little B Heart Die to cut the heart layers and added lace to them.  I popped on some lavender colour trim, lavender colour bows and finished with Pearl Gems.

Teddy Bear Blues

Hi Everyone

Today is the start of this months challenge over at Unicorn Challenge

The theme for June is It's a Man's World.  I hope you can come on over and share your masculine creations with us.

For my DT card I have used this cute little bear from Lee Holland Art called Teddy Bear and I have coloured him up using Copics

I kept the card CAS with just a couple of layers as I wanted him to take centre stage!  I stamped the Happy Birthday which is a rubber stamp.

Hippo and Acetate

Hi Everyone

Today is the start of the new challenge over at CCC Digi Creations

This is a special challenge for the DT this month as it is in memory of the lovely Eileen Dobson who originally started the blog but sadly passed away.  It has been three years now, I cannot believe how quick the time goes and she is missed by us all at CCC Digi Creations and it's sister blog.

The theme is Anything Goes but the DT have included a Lavender Ribbon or Bow on their projects in memory of Eileen.

We are being sponsored by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and I chose to work with this cute image called Ballet Hippo and I have coloured this with Copics.

I decided to delve into my stash where I have two packets of acetate sitting doing nothing and came up with this idea to use a bit of it.  Didn't really make a dent in my stash lol!

The patterned paper is from a trimcraft paper pack.  The sentiment comes with the stamp and I added two Lavender coloured bows.  I finished by adding Pearl Gems.
